City of Choctaw Audits

The City of Choctaw hires an independent auditor to review the financial statements of the governmental activities, business-type activities, component unit, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information for each fiscal year ending on June 30. The audit is conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards in the United States of America, as well as the financial audit standards outlined in Government Auditing Standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. The auditor’s responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements and their compliance with the applicable standards. Additionally, the auditor is required to remain independent from the City and follow ethical requirements throughout the audit process.
