Penny Sales Tax Progress & Updates

On February 11, voters in Choctaw approved a dedicated one-cent sales tax to fund critical Water, Wastewater, and Road improvements. This investment will help address aging infrastructure, ensure long-term sustainability, and support the city’s continued growth.

Getting Started

While the new Penny Sales Tax is set to be implemented soon, infrastructure improvements were already underway before the vote. The city had already allocated $1 million for road repairs and reconstruction, and work on manhole repairs was in progress. These projects align with our commitment to improving water, wastewater, and road systems. The Penny Sales Tax will ensure that these efforts continue and expand, allowing us to complete even more necessary upgrades.
