Great news! The City of Choctaw was awarded the TAP Grant from the Department of Transportation. Thanks to grants, the city has established a long-term plan to install sidewalks throughout the Old Town area of Choctaw. We are excited to announce that phase one of this sidewalk implementation plan will soon be underway. The project will kick off on Harper, beginning at 23rd Street and extending southward to Gilbert. From Gilbert, the construction will continue eastward, ultimately reaching Choctaw Road and concluding at City Hall. This initial phase serves as a significant milestone in our broader mission to introduce sidewalks across the entire Old Town area. Please note that the installation from Oklahoma County is at a discounted price and any concrete approaches that are required to be built will be the responsibility of the homeowner. The City of Choctaw will be hosting a Town Hall meeting where your input is needed on the path forward for road repair within the city.

City Hall and the Parks & Recreation Department will host a Fishing Derby Saturday September 9th, 8am - 11am at Ten Acre Lake Park 15600 NE 10th St Choctaw OK 73020. Come out and catch a great time and lots of fish! No cost to enter, just registration to receive a chance to win a prize in the raffle. Prizes will also be awarded to anglers who catch tagged fish. Two recent grant projects making a big difference is the brand-new trail at 10 Acre Lake Park and the landscaping project at Caboose Park! We want to extend big thanks to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and the Oklahoma Department of Tourism for making these projects happen!
